Interesting project! It sounds like it holds a lot of promise and will be one to keep an eye on as it evolves.

Thanks Leslie! All I can say is… it takes a village….
We are headed over to Uganda this summer for some more on-the-ground planning and analysis. We’ll be piloting the service learning project at a rural school in western Uganda, and trying to get a better handle on whats involved with sustainable business development in Kampala.
We are excited to keep learning from our successes and failures and hope to have more updates to share with the IGERT community soon.

Interesting topic and research. The poster is very nicely done and visually appealing. Great collaborations from four continents. I look forward to seeing results on this project. Great job!
Thanks Annie! Sometimes when we find ourselves SKYPING at 2:00am, we wonder whether or not collaborating across four continents is really necessary….
:)
But seriously… Personally, I am so thankful to be working with such a great group of inspiring people who continue to challenge me to think in new ways. Its been a great opportunity that has taught all of us so much about working across cultures and geographies.
Aleia: Great poster and video intro. I like how you tell your story through the lens of the evolution of an idea. Discovery and application of new technologies to solve problems has a strong non-linear path. Many productive turns are the result of you and your team recognizing interesting opportunities. Well done.
Thanks Peter!
You know you have a great team and an important project when you can honestly say that no matter what the outcome, the work was worth it! Even if our grand vision is ultimately unattainable, everyone has exercised their creative muscles and learned more than we could have ever hoped for about the importance of persistence, patience, and flexibility. The experience really builds confidence in one’s professional capacity to respond and adapt to new information, criticism, and change. We’re lucky to have such supportive faculty here at UW-Madison who encourage us to take risks on big ideas. We wouldn’t be here without them!
Warm wishes,
Aleia
Fantastic work, Aleia! You’ve done a skillful job of explaining how biogas generation can help address complex and linked problems of sustainability, energy security, and responsible development.
Thanks Vijay! I couldn’t do it without the support of a talented cohort of CHANGE agents…. :)
Great Job to you and your team. Keep up the good work. I and many here at UC Davis are huge proponents of AD as a technology that can be implemented at many scales to improve resource use efficiency and enable positive development. Let us know how we can track your progress and if you find yourself looking for collaboratory participation, let us know!
